about

A Jungle Jazz song about a Psychedelic night at a Fancy Dress New Years Eve Music Festival at Peats Ridge Glenworth Valley, where I had a magical passing moment with a dark and handsome man wearing not much more than a pair of fairy wings ~ he disappeared into the crowd like a dream.

The stroke of midnight came and I celebrated the New Year's arrival with my mum who was wearing a rainbow sequinned dress and a bunch of good friends who were dressed as different characters, dancing to the live music, hanging out til sunrise, swimming in the creek then snoozing on the grass under the gum trees which shaded us from the midday sun.

The Hand Drawn Picture is of the same theme ~
It was a particularly colourful evening B)

lyrics

"I came across a Dark man with light wings
Who flew right by one moonlit New Years Eve
I think he may have fancied my princess dress
& his glance made my heart dance inside of my chest
as quick as he came he disappeared again
like a magic man

I pulled up the layers of netting & lace
& racing barefoot on the dusty ground
I found the place where all of my mad friends were dancing
& told them I had just seen the fairy king
as quick as he came he disappeared again
like a magic man

Glenworth Valley is the place where magic was
& when we go again, I’m sure the sparks will fly at 12am

I tried to find the shadowy fairy
Who took my smile & held it in his eyes
But go go girls & creatures were all I could find
& masquerade & neon lights flooded my mind
& jaguars dancing & bow ties all round
white jackets flashing to the rhythm of the sound
& rainbow coloured sequins reflecting the light
& I cuddled my mother at the stroke of midnight"
